What should I eat after birth?
Why am I soooo thirsty while breastfeeding?
Is this much hair loss normal?
What nutrients do I need?
Why am I just so sweaty?

You’ll get answers. But you’ll get SO many of them! One person on a blog says this, another on insta says the opposite. There’s mumsnet and Reddit threads from 6 years ago. You’re thinking hmm is this still right or have we moved on? Then there’s the supplement industry trying to sell you a quick fix hair gummy.

And if you’re anything like me, your questions that you’re looking for a straight forward answer to becomes another admin task!

Often this would happen to me after I had my daughter when I was up in the middle of the night feeding her. Alone and everyone sleeping, the internet was the only place to go.

I realise now I wasn’t looking necessarily for more information. But I wanted a straight answer, from someone I trusted, someone who knew nutrition and motherhood. Who had the knowledge and could equip me to make a well informed decision without judgment or pressure.

Which brings me to exactly why I’ve built The Nourished Village. It’s not a programme with a week 1 and an end point. There’s no homework and there’s no pressure. You use it when you need it.

If you’re pregnant and thinking hang on, I’ve prepared everything for the baby but what about me? start with Nourish the Third Trimester, the Partner Playbook and The First 72 Hours.

If you’ve just had your baby and want to understand what’s happening in your body and how to support your recovery, it’s there.

If you’re months postpartum wondering about your energy, hair loss, nourishment or another symptom, go to Feeding the Fourth Trimester.

If you cannot even begin to work out what you need because everything feels like A LOT there’s literally an “I’m overwhelmed, what do I do?” place to start! (And if I’m honest, new mum me would have been straight there!)

Burning question you can’t find the answer to? Use Ask Kimberley, within my scope as a Certified Nutrition Consultant but also through my experience as a mum, I’m there to support you, without judgement or handing you list of perfect things to do.

I share my knowledge, help you understand what might support you, and let you make the decisions that work for you and your family.

Because I don’t think mothers need a massive set of information to work through. I think we need less to work out.

Something already there when the question comes. Something we can dip into when we need it and completely ignore when we don’t. Quite simply, someone to ask. And other mums alongside us who are in the thick of it too.

That’s what I’m building with The Nourished Village.

A little bit of the support we’ve lost as motherhood has become something we’re increasingly expected to figure out by ourselves.

No, I can’t turn up at your house with a lasagne and I can’t put your washing on. And sadly I can’t appear at 2am with a cup of tea while you feed the baby.

But this is what I can do. And I really wish I’d had it waiting for me.

The Nourished Village opens one week today, Thursday 1 October!

I’m Kimberley

Hiii, I’m Kimberley.

Certified Nutrition Consultant. Mum. History geek. Terrible cook. And someone who thinks we’ve got postpartum preparation completely backwards.

I knew a lot about looking after myself before I became a mum.

And then I became one.

Knowing what would probably be good for you and actually managing to do it when you’re exhausted, recovering and responsible for a tiny human are two very different things.

That’s a huge part of why this work exists.

My background is in nutrition, but I don’t believe postpartum wellbeing starts and ends with what’s on your plate.

Food is important..but so is sleep, recovery, movement, stress, support, your relationships and the enormous identity shift that happens when you become somebody’s mum.

I also don’t believe there’s one correct version of motherhood.

Breastfeed. Bottle feed. Mix feed.

Have the epidural.

Don’t have the epidural.

Live a bit crunchy.

Get the Botox.

Buy the good coffee.

I want you to have good information, understand your options and feel confident making the decisions that are right for you.

And when something sits outside my scope?

I’ll tell you.

Let’s connect
