The Nourished Village

You prepared for the baby.

Let’s prepare for you, too.

The pregnancy and postpartum support I wish women were given in the first place.

  • Practical resources for the things nobody thought to tell you.
  • A 2am Library for the questions that actually turn up at 2am.
  • A private community of mums in this season with you.
  • And a weekly place to ask when you’re not sure where to start.

Without another course to complete or another impossible list of things you should be doing.

And DEFINITELY without having to Google your way through postpartum on your own.

Because we prepared for everything except this bit.

You packed the hospital bag.
Thought about birth.
Bought approximately four hundred muslins.
Read about feeding and nappies and sleep.
Maybe filled the freezer if you were particularly organised.

But how much did anyone tell you about you?

What the first 72 hours might actually feel like.
What you’ll eat when you’ve got one hand free and haven’t slept.
What your partner can actually do beyond saying “tell me what you need.”
What recovery might look like.
Why you can adore your baby and still feel completely unlike yourself.
What’s normal.
What’s worth asking about.

Or what the hell you’re supposed to do when you don’t even know what you need.

That’s the bit Nourished Village exists for.

You shouldn’t have to wait until you’re drowning to start looking for the answers.

I don’t think postpartum support should begin when a woman is already exhausted, overwhelmed and trying to work out why she doesn’t feel like herself.

And I don’t think preparing for postpartum means buying another 20 things.

It means:

  • Having useful information before you need it.
  • Knowing where to turn when you do.
  • Making food easier.
  • Preparing the people around you.
  • Understanding a little more about recovery, sleep, movement and what might change.
  • Knowing when something deserves more support.
  • And having other women around who are going through it too.

That’s the preparation I mean.

So I built the thing I wish I’d been given.

The Nourished Village

It’s not a course, personalised health care and it’s definitely not another blooming forum full of strangers telling you what you “should” be doing with your baby.

It’s a place to prepare, find what you need and feel a little less alone while you work the rest out.

The 2am Library

This is the practical bit.

Short videos, downloadable guides, checklists and tools organised around the things you might actually need in pregnancy and postpartum.

It’s not a course or something you need to work through in order or complete. Find the thing. Get what you need. Go back to your life.

The Village.

Then we have the human bit.

A private community of women preparing for or living through the same season.

You can talk to each other, ask each other, discuss what is/isn’t working, what you’re finding hard, what made your week 5% easier. Lurk if you like!

Weekly Village Q&A

The I don’t know what I’m doing with this bit.

  • Something in the Library not clear?
  • Not sure where to start?
  • Got a general question you’d like me to explain?

Bring it to the weekly Q&A. And if your question needs individual or clinical support rather than a community answer, I’ll tell you.

Growing Expert Support

Village isn’t supposed to know everything because I don’t know everything.

As it grows, I’ll bring in appropriately qualified experts for additional educational masterclasses and add useful resources based on what women inside the Village actually need.

(And this is the starting Library, not the finished one. New resources will be added as Village grows.)

Supporting yourself shouldn’t become another job for you.

One of the first things I’d like you to do inside Village? Send your partner/support person the Partner Playbook.

Because “tell me what you need” sounds supportive. But when you’re exhausted, holding a baby and now apparently also responsible for managing everybody else’s helpfulness, you should need to be project managing postpartum support too. Postpartum prep is for everyone!

Couldn’t I just Google all of this?

Yep. Sure. You can Google or AI almost everything.

But I think that’s part of the problem. One search becomes 6 tabs. One Instagram post says one thing. A Tik Tok says the opposite.

Suddenly it’s 2am, you’re exhausted and you’ve somehow ended up reading a Reddit thread from 2016 that’s now helping no one..

The Nourished Village give you somewhere to start. With short resources and information you can use and somewhere to ask when you’re confused. A community to support you through this season.

And what does a Nutrition Consultant know about all of postpartum?

Not everything. And I’m not going to pretend I do. I’m a holistic Certified Nutrition Consultant and my professional work sits within my scope.

Nutrition is a huge part of how we recover, replenish and look after ourselves through pregnancy and postpartum.

That’s why Village also talks about things like sleep, support, movement, recovery, relationships and matrescence while staying very clear about where education ends and individual or specialist care begins.

When something isn’t mine to answer? I’ll point you towards someone whose job it is.

And as Village grows, we’ll bring appropriately qualified experts into their own areas too.

Why I built Nourished Village

I prepared for having a baby.

I didn’t prepare for what becoming a mum would do to me.

Before motherhood, I knew how to look after myself. I understood nutrition. I exercised. I slept. I had routines that worked.

And then I had a baby and the context for all of it changed.

I remember sitting there with a reminders list on my phone because I couldn’t hold everything in my head anymore.

Eat. Drink. Take vitamins. Wash hair.

Things I’d never needed reminding to do before.

And I realised how strange it was that I’d spent months preparing for birth and for my baby, but almost nobody had prepared me for the woman I’d be afterwards.

And I’m mean in every sense. I was so lost and overwhelmed. I was exhausted, unprepared for recovery, drowning in the mental load and change of identity. It can be SO hard to ask for help when you’re the one trying to figure out what you even need in the firstplace.

That’s why I built Nourished Village.

To give you some of the information, practical support and people I wish I’d had around me before I needed them. Not so you can do postpartum perfectly.

So you’re not left figuring it all out on your own.

Come in if…

  • You’re pregnant and want to prepare for more than birth.
  • You’re freshly postpartum and wondering why nobody told you half of this.
  • You want realistic ways to nourish yourself without a perfect meal plan.
  • You want support without judgement about how you birth, feed or mother.
  • You want your partner/support network to understand how to actually help.
  • You want somewhere reliable to start before disappearing down Google.
  • You’d like to be around women who understand the season you’re in.
  • You want general education, practical tools and community rather than personalised clinical care.

You do not need to be doing motherhood any particular way to belong here.

A quick bit about what Village isn’t.

Nourished Village provides general educational information and community support.

It doesn’t include individual nutrition assessment, personalised nutrition plans, diagnosis, treatment, individual supplement protocols or personalised clinical care.

It also doesn’t replace your GP, midwife, health visitor, dietitian or other appropriately qualified healthcare professional.

If something needs more support than Village can safely give you, I’ll tell you.

I’d much rather stay in my lane than blag an answer about your health.

Come and join us.

I’m Kimberley

Hiii, I’m Kimberley.

Certified Nutrition Consultant. Mum. History geek. Terrible cook. And someone who thinks we’ve got postpartum preparation completely backwards.

I knew a lot about looking after myself before I became a mum.

And then I became one.

Knowing what would probably be good for you and actually managing to do it when you’re exhausted, recovering and responsible for a tiny human are two very different things.

That’s a huge part of why this work exists.

My background is in nutrition, but I don’t believe postpartum wellbeing starts and ends with what’s on your plate.

Food is important..but so is sleep, recovery, movement, stress, support, your relationships and the enormous identity shift that happens when you become somebody’s mum.

I also don’t believe there’s one correct version of motherhood.

Breastfeed. Bottle feed. Mix feed.

Have the epidural.

Don’t have the epidural.

Live a bit crunchy.

Get the Botox.

Buy the good coffee.

I want you to have good information, understand your options and feel confident making the decisions that are right for you.

And when something sits outside my scope?

I’ll tell you.
